What Is the Web of Science? / Web of Scienceとは?

🌍 What Is the Web of Science?

Web of Science (WoS) is a large online database that collects information about academic journals, articles, and citations. It is run by a company called Clarivate. Researchers use it to find published papers, check how many times a paper has been cited, and see which journals are trusted in their field.

Not every journal can join Web of Science. Each journal must pass a careful review. Experts check the journal’s editorial quality, publishing standards, citation history, and the international diversity of its authors. Because of this strict selection process, journals listed in Web of Science are seen as reliable and high-quality.

This is why many universities, funding agencies, and governments treat “Web of Science indexed” as a mark of quality. Publishing in a WoS-indexed journal often helps researchers with promotions, grants, and academic reputation.

📚 Web of Science

Clarivate(クラリベイト)という会社が運営しています。
