Write a Specific Title and Abstract

A title should identify the subject and focus. “A study of sensors” is vague. “Temperature drift in low-cost pressure sensors” tells readers what to expect. Avoid “revolutionary” and unsupported claims.

Write the abstract after the main draft. Briefly state the problem, approach, main result, and importance. Include essential numbers and conditions. Distinguish measured results from model predictions. Define necessary abbreviations and follow the journal’s word limit.

The abstract must agree with the paper. Do not add results or promises that the main text cannot support.

Try it

Improve this invented abstract sentence: “Our amazing method worked very well.” Data: error fell from 8% to 5% on one test dataset.

Model answer

“On the test dataset, the method reduced error from 8% to 5%.” This reports the measure and its scope.
