ORCID: Connect Your Research Identity
Make your work easier to identify correctly.
Free researcher identifierORCID provides a persistent identifier for a researcher. It helps distinguish people who share a name and connect work across institutions or changes in name.
This is useful when Japanese names appear in different orders or romanisations. Use a consistent author name, and provide your ORCID iD when a journal or university requests it.
Review the works and affiliations connected to your record. Check imported details and remove incorrect associations through the normal record-management process. Choose appropriate visibility settings for the information you share.
An ORCID iD identifies a person; a DOI identifies an object such as a paper or dataset. Neither is a certificate that the research is correct.
Remember: keep your research record accurate. Do not claim another person’s publication simply because the author name looks similar.
